She produces an abundance of exotic-looking, fragrant flowers in spring, followed in late summer by bite-sized, sweet-tart fruits similar in size to a large grape. The green fruits have violet-red skin and are smooth, rather than fuzzy, on the outside, so there's no need to peel them before eating. The fruits have eight times more vitamin C than oranges and contain 20% natural sugar for outstanding sweetness. Lush, tropical-looking foliage on vigorous vines can reach 20 to 25 feet in length or height and contain up to 100 pounds of fruit on a single mature vine. With that much fruit, this vine will require a sturdy support structure such as a fence, pergola, or T-bar fortified with metal posts or 4x4-inch or larger wood posts.
