Living up to its name, this beauty showcases a \"galaxy' of star-shaped pure-white flowers in large, 5-inch diameter globe-shaped clusters perched atop tall, sturdy stems that make them excellent for cutting and display in a vase or floral arrangement. The flowers stand above a large 4-foot by 4-foot dense clump of attractive, strap-like green leaves. The bloom in our north-central Georgia gardens begins near mid-summer and continues through early fall, which the butterflies and hummingbirds appreciate. An excellent choice for providing a tropical flair in perennial borders or as solitary or mixed with other plants in container gardens. We've never tried it, but we hear that Agapanthus can be grown year-round as an indoor houseplant when provided adequate light.
