A fast grower adding 12 to 18 inches in height per year, it forms an absolutely beautiful, very soft-looking, rounded vase-shaped specimen 15 to 20 feet tall and 15 feet or so wide. Its layered branching structure, similar to flowering dogwood, is clothed in finely dissected lacy leaves, which are typical on the mounding dwarfs but rare on upright cultivars. Its thin, ribbon-like leaves emerge an absolutely glowing lime green in spring turning to medium green tipped in red in summer. With the arrival of cooler temperatures in fall the leaves begin to turn multiple shades of yellow and orange finishing in stunning red shades. Though delicate looking, Seiryu is one of the fastest growing and most durable of the over 100 varieties we have growing in our gardens over the past few decades. Its layered branching structure, similar to flowering dogwood, is clothed in finely dissected lacy leaves, which are typical on the mounding dwarfs but rare on upright cultivars. Its thin, ribbon-like leaves emerge an absolutely glowing lime green in spring turning to medium green tipped in red in summer. With the arrival of cooler temperatures in fall the leaves begin to turn multiple shades of yellow and orange finishing in stunning red shades. Its layered branching structure, similar to flowering dogwood, is clothed in finely dissected lacy leaves, which are typical on the mounding dwarfs but rare on upright cultivars. Its thin, ribbon-like leaves emerge an absolutely glowing lime green in spring turning to medium green tipped in red in summer. With the arrival of cooler temperatures in fall the leaves begin to turn multiple shades of yellow and orange finishing in stunning red shades. Though delicate looking, Seiryu is one of the fastest growing and most durable of the over 100 varieties we have growing in our gardens over the past few decades. A fast grower adding 12 to 18 inches in height per year, it forms an absolutely beautiful, very soft-looking, rounded vase-shaped specimen 15 to 20 feet tall and 15 feet or so wide. Its layered branching structure, similar to flowering dogwood, is clothed in finely dissected lacy leaves, which are typical on the mounding dwarfs but rare on upright cultivars. Its thin, ribbon-like leaves emerge an absolutely glowing lime green in spring turning to medium green tipped in red in summer. With the arrival of cooler temperatures in fall the leaves begin to turn multiple shades of yellow and orange finishing in stunning red shades. Though delicate looking, Seiryu is one of the fastest growing and most durable of the over 100 varieties we have growing in our gardens over the past few decades.
