It has stronger weeping branches that become covered in vibrant rosy lavender-pink flowers before the foliage emerges in spring. Immediately following the spring bloom, the new leaves emerge in a copper color transitioning to richer dark green. They have the typical large heart-shape of the species but hang downward along the weeping stems for a calming waterfall effect. Highly adaptable, heat and cold tolerant (-20F), and easy-to-grow in most any well-drained soil and sun or partial shade, Pink Heartbreaker is a spectacular specimen around patios and other outdoor sitting and living spaces where its flowers, foliage and form can be enjoyed from close up. Barely surviving due to the bad timing, only one branch leafed out the following spring, but fortunately that was enough to begin propagation and get the plant into production.
