A slow grower it spreads to form a highly attractive mounding patch of twisting and turning branches clothed in short, emerald green needles. It grows to about a foot or so tall mounding in the center to maybe 2 feet, and spreads 6 to 8 feet wide over time. Though it typically stays prostrate, the artful gardener with some patience can train it to a stake to form an upright cascading mound surrounded by a skirt of foliage.
