It is one of the showiest flowering shrubs in our gardens. It forms an upright, rounded vase shape about 8 to 10 feet tall and 6 to 8 feet wide. The branches are clothed in handsome, deeply veined, rich green leaves through the season that turn to attractive red shades with the arrival of cool temperatures in fall. In mid to late spring, abundant rounded clusters of lime-green buds open to lime green flowers that age to crystal white. As the shrub grows taller, lower branches can be removed to form a small specimen tree.
