In general, like all other azaleas, the Encores prefer an organically rich, moist but well-drained acidic soil. Constantly soggy or wet soil is problematic for azaleas. Heavy clay, quick-draining sand, or otherwise poor soils are best amended with organic matter or other soil amendments to provide sufficient nutrients, better soil drainage, and\/or moisture retention. \u003c\/div\u003e\n\u003cdiv\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003c\/div\u003e\n\u003cdiv\u003eIn containers, a 50\/50 blend of professional potting mix and potting soil is suggested. I have had these before at another home. They make a nice screen about 4-5\" tall year round after about 5 to 10 years. They flower the most in the spring and fall with cooler temperatures, the flowering drops off as the temperatures increase. note on rating, I normally rate things at a 3 (average) and go up or down if the product\/service differs from average or \"as expected\".
