In late winter to mid spring, the branches are literally covered in large (4-5\") and gorgeous peony form flowers with orchid pink wavy petals surrounding yellow stamens that might peek through. Year round deep green leathery leaves on a die-back resistant shrub or small tree with an upright and narrow round pyramidal form serve as an excellent backdrop to the flowers.
