The stiff, thin leaves emerge lime green in color turning blue and remaining that color throughout the rest of the year, even during winter. Though this one is often grown as a bog or pond plant it is also drought tolerant in garden beds. If necessary, the foliage can be refreshed annually, before new growth begins to emerge in spring, by cutting back the old stems. After doing so, bright, new greenery will emerge in spring.
