From early to late summer, abundant, unusual but attractive looking thistle-like, egg-shaped clusters of purplish blue flowers appear atop silver-blue stems that rise above the low mound of grey-green leaves. Flowers are excellent for cutting and a favorite of florists. The butterflies and beneficial pollinators will appreciate them as well, but deer and rabbits turn their nose up to it. Very easy to grow in a sunny site with well-draining soil, Blue Hobbit is a colorful and textural compliment to any garden or container.
