Only reaching about 30 inches tall and wide with a distinctly upright habit and sturdy the stems that stand erect, from mid summer into fall, abundant spikes of lavender-blue flowers form a beautiful cloud of soothing color in the landscape. The fragrant flowers contrast nicely with the soft-textured, fragrant, fern-like grey-green leaves. Everything about this plant is soft and soothing! While the butterflies, hummingbrrds and beneficial pollinators will thank you for the flowers, the deer and rabbits turn their nose up to it. Russian Sage is one of those plants that loves the heat, tolerates poor soils and drought, and will take as much blazing sun as you can give it.
