The result is a mid-size maple tree with beautiful dark green leaves that turn bright red in the fall and fading gradually to a brilliant purple-red before dropping for the winter. Due to its parentage, the Brandywine Maple is a fast grower adding 3 to 4 feet in height per year, growing to about half the size of the species with a more upright, narrow form to only 15 feet wide or so, which makes it ideal for use in smaller landscapes or to line a street or driveway.
