Slowly but surely it forms a highly attractive gracefully arching clump of shiny, thin leaves that are often evergreen. In late spring, abundant greenish white flower spikes dangle above the foliage mound. As seed begins to form, the spikes evolve to a pleasing straw color and finally golden brown. Excellent in meadow gardens, rain gardens, natural areas, and as a groundcover in landscape borders and on slopes.
