Left to grow naturally, it will form a narrow cone 10 to 12 feet tall and 4-6' wide at its base over time. With annual pruning in late winter, it can be maintained as a narrower column at 2 to 3 feet wide. Lower branches can be removed to form a popsicle-like topiary, and the canopy can be topped and rounded to create a lollipop form. The attractive, obovate, toothed green leaves are exceptionally dense on the tree and turn vibrant golden-yellow in fall, making it a possible candidate for a hedgerow where space is limited.
