It is remarkably free of diseases, is insect resistant, and exceptionally drought tolerant when established. It adapts well to most soil types, even clay, and won't be bothered by moist or dry soil conditions. Soil pH is of no concern as Ginkgo trees perform well in both acid and alkaline conditions. Avoid pruning other than to remove damaged branches or lower branches to expose more trunk.
