The flowers are produced from May through July and then again in fall. When trained to grow upward on a trellis, obelisk, fence or other structure it will reach 4 to 5 feet high, maybe a little shorter in containers which can be situated on patios or around other outdoor sitting or living spaces for up close viewing. Rambling through a perennial garden or shrub bed it might reach 2 to 3 feet high roaming to 5 feet wide or so. Guiding Promise has good strong stems that produce flowers from top to bottom of the plant.
