Though it really doesn't require pruning, it responds well to an annual light shearing to maintain a more perfect rounded mound over the long term. Otherwise, with no trimming, it will take on a more natural mounded form, which we love! Unlike most other Chamaecyparis, this one will actually thrive in wet soil, provided the soil is sandy and peaty. Heatherbun is a slower grower adding up to 6 inches per year and maturing over the long term to 6 to 8 feet tall and wide.
