Its smaller stature makes it an ideal choice for a natural or formal hedge or where a low-growing evergreen shrub is desired in home foundation plantings. Without pruning it adds maybe 2 inches in height per year and forms a dense, rounded mound. Small, ovate, medium green leaves hold color well throughout the year.
