It features horizontal feathery sprays of dark olive green foliage with branchlets that gracefully curve downwards. During winter in cold climates the foliage might take on an attractive bronze tint. As with most other coniferous evergreens, a constantly wet soil can cause problems with the roots. It is moderately drought tolerant but will appreciate an occasional watering during prolonged periods of dry weather. It is highly tolerant of urban pollution and will even thrive in inner city environments. Maintenance is minimal. No pruning is required. If you prune, only trim back the new growth of the current season.
