We think the name comes from the rounded center lobe on each leaf. Skilled gardeners can maintain it at half that height or even smaller for bonsai. The quarter-sized leaves are also very small, lending a unique texture in the garden. The dainty leaves emerge a bright yellow-green with an amber to red border. During summer the foliage goes to a medium to dark green with bronze to pinkish red new leaves which emerge throughout the season. Fall brings bright yellow to orange shades finishing a bright red.
