'Lima Gold' has a tight, upright habit with robust growth when young becoming a little more open but elegantly scaled with age to maybe 4 feet tall and and 5 feet wide in 10 or so years. The tiny quarter-sized leaves are lively and fresh emerging a golden lime-green edged in orange to pinkish red maturing to a rich green with golden-green new leaves during summer. Fall brings golden-yellow turning to orange-red. Perfect for small garden spaces and containers, Lima Gold is a charming Japanese maple that is sure to be a conversation piece in the garden or in containers situated on patios, terraces, decks or around other outdoor living spaces where its beauty and colors can be enjoyed from close up.
