A moderate grower adding 12 to 15 inches in height per year, it forms a somewhat open pyramid to around 20 feet tall and 10 to 15 feet wide at its base on average. A fine accent tree in small to medium-sized landscape spaces or to frame the corners of taller homes, structures, and entrances. It can also be grown in containers on patios and around other outdoor sitting and living spaces. As with so many other conifers, constantly soggy or wet soils can be problematic; leading to root rot or other harmful plant diseases. So make sure to plant this one in well-drained soil, whether in the ground or in pots. In pots, soil moisture will need to be monitored more closely, especially during summer. When the top two inches of soil is dry, provide water.
