The abundant bouqets of \u003cspan\u003ehighly fragrant\u003c\/span\u003e flowers are soft pink to white inside and bright purplish-lavender outside and fill the garden with sweet perfume at a time of year not much else is blooming, with the exception of \u003cspan\u003eEdgeworthia\u003c\/span\u003e, which is also in the Thymelaeaceae plant family.
