The blossoms are attractive to butterflies and moths and the tree is a host plant for the blue azure butterfly. Autumn berries are attractive to all kinds of birds including mockingbirds, grosbeaks, robins among many other kinds.. They look similar to dogwoods in bloom but bloom after them so a nice succession of blossoms for my butterflies. In the fall the show off pleasing reddish color. I am not positive this variety is native to Ohio, but it has been around since the 1800s I think. .\nA big box arrived with my two double file viburnum well packed with instructions on how to unpack and plant. . Plants were very healthy looking. I planted mine in part-sun\/shade and they seem to be doing well.
