Ginkgo are among just a few surviving trees to have inhabited the earth 150 million years ago. As with other Ginkgo varieties, Mariken features unique interesting two lobed fan shaped green leaves that in fall turn the brightest golden-yellow of any tree in existence. This tree-form has somewhat weeping to pendulous branches atop a single trunk that might reach 5 to 6 feet tall by 5 to 7 feet wide at maturity. This makes it a fine selection for growing in containers or as an accent in small garden spaces.
