We first saw her years ago at the Atlanta Botanical Gardens and couldn't believe that the well-established shrub had survived the summer heat and humidity over the years. Not only does Miss Kim handle the heat as far south as USDA Zone 8a (maybe 8b?) she also withstands cold temperatures down to -30F.  Blooming later than other lilacs, she extends the season with LOADS of deep purple buds that open to some of the most intoxicatingly fragrant, lavender-purple flowers you will ever encounter. Powdery mildew resistant rich green foliage is burgundy-tinged in fall.
