Mangave is a perennial succulent plant that can be grown outdoors in the ground in USDA Zone 8-10, or in pots that can be left outdoors year round in Zones 9-10 but that will need to be overwintered indoors in Zones 8 and further north. They thrive in well-drained, dry to average soil and 7 hours or more of direct sun for best coloration and overall growth.\u003c\/div\u003e\n\u003cdiv\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003c\/div\u003e\n\u003cdiv\u003e'Mission To Mars' Mangave gets its name due to the intense red coloration of its thick leaves that are heavily speckled and spotted with burgundy red, bleeding into each other for an overall red appearance. The best red coloration comes with 7 hours or more of direct sun or UV light per day. The long and arching leaves curve downward forming a mound. The margins of the leaves curl upward showing off cinnamon colored spines, which complement the red.
