The mound is clothed in rich, green foliage that turns a deep burgundy-red in the fall. It is excellent as an accent shrub, in a grouping or border, and looks lovely cascading over a wall. It does not require pruning; however, an annual pruning immediately after the spring bloom can be done for shaping purposes and to enhance foliage density.
