Meet Ravenna Hardy Pampas Grass, a cold hardy species that stands up to temperatures down to -20F! Very similar to the less-hardy Pampas Grass, this hardy, large, and stately one shows off 18 to 24 inch flower plumes that rise on sturdy stems up to 12 feet tall above a 6 to 7 feet tall and wide mound of gracefully arching grey-green leaf blades. The plumes emerge a purple-bronze color in summer fading to a silvery color in fall and persisting well into winter and are great for cutting and use in fresh or dried floral arrangements. The rustling sound the foliage makes when a breeze comes along can be quite calming. Exceptionally easy to grow and very drought tolerant when established, this one performs best in a soil that's on the dry side and of low fertility.
