We really like it best as a multi-trunk tree where it shows off its orangish colored bark that contrasts beautifully with the blue foliage. To tree form, as the tree grows simply remove lower branches. Adding 6 to 12 inches in height and width per year with no pruning, at 10 years of age a specimen will reach around 6 to 8 feet tall and wide and maybe near twice that size at maturity. Size can be controlled by pruning the candles about halfway back in spring. Also a fine candidate for pom-pom topiary.
