A very fast grower and culm producing machine, you can expect Seabeeze to reach a full height of about 35 to 40 feet in a tight and tidy clump of 2 to 2.5 inch diameter beautiful green culms to about 5 feet wide in just two to three years. The tight clump makes it suited to smaller gardens where its arching canopy of green leaves will also provide shade. High wind and salt tolerance makes Seabreeze one of the best bamboos for growing in coastal landscapes. Faster growth can be expected with more sun. In quick draining soils it's a good idea to mix in some composted organic matter such as composted cow manure and peat moss with the native soil removed from the planting hole. Mulch well to retain moisture in the soil. Bamboo only puts up new shoots for a short time each year and, when they are \"shooting,\" the new plants are very fragile and easy to destroy.
