It is a cross of  'Red Sunset' and 'Autumn Flame', from which it gets its fast growth growth and handsome, rich green leaves that turn outstanding brilliant red shades in fall. In late winter to early spring small clusters of flowers the beneficial pollinators will appreciate appear at the tips of almost every twig on the tree. It is a male tree so does not produce the samaras (winged seeds). Long lived and highly adaptable and reliable, the Sun Valley Red Maple will thrive in most any soil of average fertility and tolerates periodic wet or dry soils when established.
