Sometimes plants will produce solid red flowers or a combination of solid red and variegated, and the width of the border can vary as well. This is so common the International Camellia Register addresses it. The flower buds begin opening in late winter and continue into spring. With age, the branches of Tama-no-Ura become pendulous making for a magnificent, weeping specimen tree.
