It has a tall, upright growth habit, good freeze resistance, and is one of the most ornamental rabbiteye varieties due to its brilliant orange-red fall leaf color. Tifblue ripens in mid-late season, and produces abundant yields of light blue, medium-large size fruit, with excellent flavor, and a small, dry stem scar. Tifblue berries also store and ship very well - which is yet another reason it has been a top selection for both home and commercial growers.

NOTE: All of our fruit plants are grown in containers outdoors so they are fully rooted and landscape-ready upon arrival.

Growing Preferences

Blueberry plants grow best in an acidic (pH of 4.8 to 5.2), organically rich, moist, well-drained soil in full sun to part shade. The more sun the better for best berry production. The shallow, fibrous roots of blueberry plants like a consistently moist but well-drained soil which can be provided by with a layer of organic mulch. Although blueberries are self-fertile, cross-pollination produces the best fruit crop (larger berries and larger yields). Therefore it is best to plant more than one variety that will bloom at the same time. Blueberry season can be extended by planting early, mid-season and late varieties. Make sure to plant two different cultivars/varieties for each season. I bought my plants in February, as that is the recommended time for planting blueberries in west Tennessee, and they arrived in beautiful condition. I took them out immediately, but as the weather wasn't permissive, I had to wait about 10 days before I could get them in the ground. I left the paper covering on the plant but removed the plastic wrap, and used this as a "mulch" to keep the soil moist with watering. They did great! I was very pleased. I have planted them slightly above ground and backfilled with pine bark mulch. I have cut off the blossoms this year to encouraged root growth and make the plant stronger. So far, they have started to leaf out wonderfully, and I look forward to seeing a beautiful bush this year, but hopefully next year see a good crop (if I can keep the birds away).----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Good Luck! I am not tech savvy but the website was excellent. Extremely easy, fast, answered all of my questions, and has a wonderful system. If the product is sold out, they email you to let you know that they now have it in stock. Delivery is fast, always packed carefully. I have never had a plant that was not perfect when I opened the box. I literally have spent thousands of dollars with Wilson bros and I will continue to do so. I have only called the company once, and they answered my question, were extremely knowledgeable and very pleasant to talk with. Pricing was great, no more Home Depot or Lowe's. I have 25 acres in Odessa Florida with a gazillion Wilson Bros plants and this is the only company that I will purchase plants from.--------------------------------------------------------------------Thanks so much for your wonderful review.
