Adding 12 inches or so to its size every year, the Twisted Eastern White Pine forms a pyramid 20 to 30 feet tall and 12 to 16 feet wide at its base over time. Excellent as a specimen or in spaced groupings in sunny landscape and woodland borders or to frame the corners of tall homes and other structures. We suggest at least 5 hours of direct sunlight per day. It prefers an acid soil ranging from 4.5 to 6.0 on the pH scale. Alkaline soils above 7.0 pH will result in yellowing foliage and poor health. As with so many other ornamental trees, a constantly soggy soil or wet can cause problems with the roots.
