It's not too picky about soil type but prefers a moist but well-drained soil. What it doesn't like is a constantly soggy or wet soil, which can cause problems with the roots. It grows more dense and flowers more in full to mostly sun, however, will tolerate a fair amount of shade or filtered sun.
