Its slug-resistant, large, generously puckered, heart-shaped, dark to mid-green leaves sport broad, irregular butter-yellow margins that mature to creamy white as the season progresses. In mid to late summer, abundant, beautiful, soft-lavender flowers atop scapes 24 inches high contrast wonderfully with the foliage and will surely be appreciated by hummingbirds and butterflies. Though we have this one growing in the shade in our gardens, we hear from some of our northern gardening friends that Wide Brim tolerates more sun than other hosta varieties.
