Most of its dark green canes with yellow stripes grow very straight and are rigidly upright and dense to give you a colorful privacy screen of up to 40 feet in height, even near walkways or driveways. What's really neat is that about 1 out of maybe every 10 canes forms a zig-sag pattern at the base. Culm sheath colors appear purple-green usually striped with yellow.
