A stunning Hibiscus that both northerners and southerners can grow outdoors year-round to bring a look and feel of the tropics to the garden, 'Airbrush Effect' is a long-blooming perennial that is cold hardy all the way to USDA Zone 4a where temperatures can go to -30F in winter. From early to mid-summer and well into fall, it features enormous 8 to 9-inch diameter flowers that appear as though an airbrush artist carefully painted them. The overlapping petals are vibrant pink airbrushed with a soft white halo around the center and a contrasting deep red eye. The overall effect is a three-dimensional-looking flower that makes folks want to reach out and touch it to ensure it's real. Dark green leaves form a tidy, dense, and well-rounded mound to about 4 feet tall and 4.5 wide, which makes it a good fit as an accent in smaller garden spaces or grouped or as a hedge where space allows. Also excellent in large containers. Not only will you enjoy this marvelous plant, but the butterflies, hummingbirds, and vital beneficial pollinators will thank you for including it in your garden.

Growing Preferences
Hardy Hibiscus is very easy to grow. It prefers moist but well-drained soil and plenty of sunshine, though some shade is tolerated. During prolonged periods of summer drought, plants will appreciate supplemental water to bloom their best. Maintenance is minimal, requiring just one pruning a year to prune plants back to the ground when new growth begins to emerge in spring.
