We can't speak for folks in other areas, but in our north-central Georgia gardens, Spanish Lavender has outperformed all other types of lavender. Anouk Purple Medley Lavender is no exception. It stands up to hot and humid summers as far south as USDA Zone 9b. It is a compact, upright grower that is only 14 to 18 inches tall and maybe 15 inches wide, making it a fine selection for small garden spaces and containers. A rebloomer, it begins blooming in early spring and continues reblooming through the summer. The flowers, which are larger than other Spanish lavenders, are deep purple with bright purple flags on top. The flowers stand atop sturdy stems just above the gray-green foliage, making them excellent for cutting, and the butterflies are sure to see them. You might be happy to know that deer and rabbits won't touch it. Anouk Purple Medley does not die back in the winter in our gardens and has demonstrated excellent insect and disease resistance. Plant it in well-draining soil because it does not like constantly wet feet. 

Growing 14 to 18 inches tall and 12 to 15 inches wide, Anouk Purple Medley Spanish Lavender is ideal as an accent in smaller garden beds and containers. It can be planted in groupings in larger garden beds or as a border along walkways or around patios. It is a fine selection for herb gardens, perennial gardens, purple theme gardens, fragrance gardens,  cottage gardens, and rock and fragrance gardens.

Suggested Spacing:  12 inches apart for mass plantings or solid borders; 30 inches apart for space between plants

Anouk Purple Medley Lavender is easy to grow in moist to somewhat dry, well-drained soil with average to low fertility and plenty of sun. Constantly soggy soil or standing water is problematic, so plant it in a well-draining site. If desired, the plant can be cut back by one-third of its height after flowering to maintain a fuller plant. For example, if your plant is 30 inches tall, you can cut it back to 20 inches tall.
