Description

Stunning pink new growth sets Blush Pink apart from other Nandina varieties. This new cultivar is a sport of Firepower Dwarf Nandina with some added spice. The pink foliage glows throughout the growing season leading up to a spectacular fall and winter display of bright pink and burgundy-red foliage. Outstanding in groupings or as a border.

Landscape & Garden Uses

Growing naturally to 2 feet tall and wide, its mounding form and beautiful foliage make Blush Pink Nandina ideal for use as an accent or in groupings in smaller garden spaces. In larger landscape borders plant in mass or along a walkway or path for a stunning display of year round color. A fine centerpiece or accent in container gardens and to pink color gardens, rock gardens, and Xeriscape gardens (low water needs).

Suggested Spacing:  18 inches apart for solid borders or mass plantings;  4 feet or more apart for space between plants

How Many Plants Needed To Cover A Planting Area?

Note:  For our customers who live and garden north of USDA Plant Hardiness Zone 6a, where this Nandina variety is not reliably winter hardy, you'll be happy to know it can be grown in containers that can be brought indoors during winter and placed back outside when temperatures warm up in spring.

Growing Preferences

Blush Pink Nandina is exceptionally easy to grow in most any average, moist but well drained soils and full sun to part shade. Plants are exceptionally drought tolerant when established. As with so many other shrubs, constantly wet or soggy can cause root rot and other plant diseases. Exceptionally low maintenance requiring little if any pruning. Its low water needs makes it highly suitable for Xeriscape gardening.
