Description
Chapel View Cryptomeria is an easy-to-grow and highly attractive shrub that needs no pruning to achieve its broad yet compact pyramidal form which fits nicely in smaller garden spaces. This semi-dwarf Japanese cedar might achieve 6 to 7 feet height and 5 feet wide in 10 to 12 years. The unique and handsome blue-green needles (green when young) are resistant to winter bronzing and add pleasing texture and color to the landscape.
Landscape & Garden Uses
Growing in a broad pyramidal form to 8 feet tall and 6 feet wide, the Chapel View Cryptomeria is ideal for use as a specimen in smaller gardens spaces, as an accent or corner plant in home foundation plantings or in containers. Also nice in groupings in sunny to partially shaded landscape borders or to accentuate entryways. A fine addition to Asian theme gardens, Japanese gardens, conifer gardens, formal gardens and rock gardens.
Suggested Spacing: 4 to 5 feet apart for hedges; 10 feet apart for space between plants
