Description

An outstanding new dwarf Rosemary plant selected and noted for its higher oil content and wonderful spicy flavor. With a compact, mounding habit, this one can be useful in the landscape as a border or groundcover but is also the Rosemary of choice for container, herb, and kitchen gardens. We've had it growing in a large pot in our gardens for about 3 years and its doing great.

Landscape & Garden Uses

With a compact, mounding habit to only 12-18 inches tall and 18-24 inches wide, Chef's Choice Rosemary is ideal for use in smaller garden spaces and container gardens. It is an excellent culinary herb and can be grown in a sunny or well-lit space in kitchen gardens. In larger landscape spaces it makes a beautiful groundcover or evergreen border. It also works well in pots, planters and other containers that can be placed on sunny patios, decks and other outdoor living spaces. A fine evergreen addition to herb gardens and in fragrance gardens, Asian gardens, cottage gardens, cut flower gardens, blue color theme gardens and the Xeriscape (low water needs).

Spacing:  18 inches apart for groundcover or low hedge; 5 feet or more apart for space between plants

Note:  For our customers who live and garden north of USDA Plant Hardiness Zone 7a, where this Rosemary plant variety is not reliably winter hardy, you'll be happy to know it can be grown in containers that can be brought indoors during winter and placed back outside when temperatures warm up in spring.

Growing Preferences

Rosemary is easy to grow and appreciates well-drained soil and plenty of sun. Constantly soggy or wet soils can be problematic. Water as needed until fully established during its first year and then only occasionally as needed.
