Description
Dwarf Green Stripe Bamboo is an exceptionally colorful low growing bamboo reaching 3 to 6 feet tall with 6 to 8 inch long yellow leaves striped with green. If you have a large sunny to partially shaded area you want to cover with attractive green foliage this plant is a great choice for a tall groundcover. It is often used as an accent or under-story plant in larger bamboo groves. Great for use filling large above ground pots, planters and other containers. It's dense foliage does a great job of suppressing weeds. Root pruning or installing Bamboo Root Barrier are other methods to control spread.
Please Note: To look its best, we suggest cutting Green Stripe Bamboo plants back to the ground annually in late winter to encourage all-new fresh variegated leaves. Otherwise, there may be a mixture of older leaves, which have faded more to green, and new more brightly colored variegated leaves.

Growing Preferences
Dwarf Green Stripe Bamboo grows well in most any most but well-drained soil of average fertility and full sun to part shade. This species will spread to form large colonies. If planted in an area where unlimited spread is not acceptable, underground barriers can be installed to control spread. Can be trimmed or mowed to the ground every year to stimulate all fresh new growth for the current season.
