Description
An outstandingly colorful Ice Plant, 'Fire Spinner' wows with bright tricolor flowers of orange, red and lavender that smother the foliage from mid spring to early summer. During the rest of the year the evergreen foliage forms a weed-blocking dense carpet of emerald green succulent leaves that reaches maybe 3 inches tall spreading to 18 inches or more wide. This hardy and easy to grow and care for outdoor succulent thrives in sunny dry spots with well-drained soil. You might also be happy to know that the deer and rabbits turn their nose up to it. Perfect for borders, banks and slopes, and also ideal in containers, the Fire Spinner Ice Plant is sure to provide lots of sizzling color in the garden!
Landscape & Garden Uses
Growing 2 to 3 inches tall and spreading to 18 inches or more wide, the Fire Spinner Ice Plant is ideal for use as an accent in small garden spaces or combination container gardens or in groupings or massed along the borders of walkways and paths, patios and garden beds. Very nice around rocks and boulders. A fine addition to succulent and cactus gardens, rock gardens, purple theme gardens and the Xeriscape (low water needs).
Suggested Spacing: 12 inches apart for mass planting

Growing Preferences
When planted right and in the right spot, Ice Plant is very easy to grow. It requires a well-drained lightly moist to dry soil and is very drought tolerant when established. Will tolerate rainy periods but constantly soggy or wet soil is a killer. It performs best in full sun but will tolerate part shade. We suggest at least 6 hours of direct sunlight for best overall performance.
