Description
Among the finest of small flowering trees as a focal point, this is the rare tree form version of the Fragrant Fountain Japanese Snowbell, a very compact tree to maybe 8 feet tall and 6 feet wide, making it a perfect fit for smaller urban garden spaces or large planters. From mid to late spring to early early summer, a profusion of wonderfully fragrant bell-shaped flowers appear from top to bottom of the long cascading branches appearing like a fountain. It blooms at a young age. Handsome ovate leaves are a dark to medium green through the season turning to golden yellow and red in fall.
PLEASE NOTE: This variety is a cross between 'Rosea' and 'Carillon', which gives it it's more compact and weeping habit. The plants we grow will look low and mounding. As the tree grows it will form a central leader that grows more upward. The central leader can also be trained to grow upright by attaching a bamboo or other type of stake to it.
Landscape & Garden Uses
Growing 7 to 8 feet tall and 5 to 6 feet wide, the Fragrant Fountain Japanese Snowbell Tree is ideal for use as a focal point specimen in sunny to partially shaded landscape or woodland borders and home foundation plantings. Can also be grown in large planters. To enjoy the fragrant flowers plant near patios, decks, porches and other outdoor living spaces where the fragrance can be enjoyed. A fine addition to white theme gardens, fragrance gardens, topiary gardens, cottage gardens, and woodland gardens.

Growing Preferences
The Fragrant Fountain Japanese Snowbell Tree is very easy to grow in moist but well-drained soil that is rich in organic matter and and full sun to part shade. We suggest at least 4 hours of direct sunlight per day or morning sun with afternoon shade or all-day lightly filtered sun. Standing water or constantly soggy or wet soils can be problematic.
