Description

Adored for its intoxicating fragrance, Winter Honeysuckle is a multi-stemmed shrub featuring abundant, tubular, creamy white flowers that fill the air with the lemony aroma in late winter. The budded branches can be cut for fragrant indoor floral arrangements. Following the flowers are abundant and showy red berries. Attractive, oval-shaped, blue-green leaves cloth the arching stems throughout the warm seasons often persisting through most of the winter in our Georgia gardens, unless temperatures become extremely cold. Exceptionally easy to grow, we've seen no pest or disease problems and deer that visit our gardens turn their nose up to it.

Landscape & Garden Uses

Growing 6 to 10 feet tall and wide, Fragrant Winter Honeysuckle Bush is ideal for use as a specimen or in groupings in landscape, flowering shrub and woodland borders. Especially nice near patios, decks, porches and other outdoor living spaces where the fragrance can be enjoyed from close up. A fine addition to fragrance gardens, cottage gardens and coastal gardens.

Suggested Spacing:  7 feet apart for solid borders;  14 feet apart for space between plants

Growing Preferences
