Description

‘Girard's Pleasant White' is a low growing hybrid evergreen azalea featuring a profusion of beautiful white flowers with a splash of green that nearly cover the attractive light green foliage in mid to late spring. The flowers stand out remarkably well against deep green foliage on a dense mound to 3 feet tall and 4 feet wide when left to grow naturally. Exceptionally cold hardy to -20F, this one is an excellent choice as far north as USDA Zone 5a.

Landscape & Garden Uses

Growing to about 3 feet tall and 4 feet wide, Girard's Pleasant White Azalea is ideal for use as an accent, in groupings, mass plantings or as a low evergreen hedge partially shaded landscape borders, woodland gardens, and home foundation plantings. Butterflies love the flowers, and blooming branches serve very well for cutting to create stunning indoor floral arrangements. A fine addition to azalea and rhododendron gardens, white theme gardens, butterfly gardens, Asian theme gardens, Zen gardens and cottage gardens.

Spacing:  2.5-3' for solid hedges;  6'+ for space between plants
