Description

‘Gumpo Pink’ is a true dwarf, dense and mounding Satsuki Hybrid evergreen azalea that produces large, ruffled bright coral-pink flowers in late spring through early summer. It's small size lends well for those tight spots in the landscape and under low sitting windows or decks.

Landscape & Garden Uses

Growing to 2 feet tall and 3 feet wide, Gumpo Pink Azalea is a perfect choice for groupings, mass plantings, low hedges or an accent in partially shaded landscape borders, woodland gardens, and home foundation plantings. Use under low windows and along low sitting decks. Butterflies love the flowers, and blooming branches serve very well for cutting to create stunning indoor floral arrangements.

Spacing:  1.5' for solid hedges;  4'+ for space between plants

How Many Plants Needed To Cover A Planting Area?

Note:  For our customers who live and garden north of USDA Plant Hardiness Zone 6a, where this Azalea variety is not winter hardy outdoors, you can enjoy growing it in containers that can be moved indoors during winter and placed back outside when temperatures warm up in spring.

Growing Preferences

Evergreen Azaleas are easy to grow when planted right and in the right spot. They prefer a moist but well-drained and acidic soil that is rich in organic matter and part sun. Morning sun with afternoon shade or filtered sun is ideal. Moderate drought tolerance when established.

Plants arrived perfectly packaged and in great shape. Beautiful foliage. It’s late in the season so they had already bloomed but one plant had a few blooms and I could tell the color was as expected. They are planted and thriving. The shipping was quick. Great value.--------------------------------------------------------------Thanks for the kind words and awesome review! We are so glad you are pleased and we hope you enjoy them for years to come! :) Beth Steele | WBG
