Description

A rare and absolutely gorgeous Aromi Hybrid evergreen Azalea, in early spring 'Hallie' produces an explosion of 2 to 3 inch diameter double flowers with purplish pink petals that shine against a backdrop of dark green leaves. A site to behold!

This beauty was hybridized by Dr. Aromi, who also hybridized many of the Aromi Hybrid deciduous native azaleas we grow and offer. 'Hallie' was named after one of his granddaughters.

Landscape & Garden Uses

Growing to 4 to 5 feet tall and wide at maturity, Hallie Azalea is ideal for use as a specimen or in groupings in landscape, woodland and flowering shrub borders and home foundation plantings. A fine addition to Asian-theme gardens, azalea gardens, pink theme gardens, cottage gardens, and partially shaded woodland gardens.

Spacing:  3 to 3.5 feet apart for solid hedge;  8 feet or more for space between plants

Growing Preferences

Evergreen Azaleas are easy to grow when planted right and in the right spot. They prefer a moist but well-drained and acidic soil that is rich in organic matter and part sun. Morning sun with afternoon shade or filtered sun is ideal. Moderate drought tolerance when established.
